Responsiveness

Responsiveness is how you are perceived to express feelings when communicating with others.

Task-oriented responsive people tend to prefer to focus communications on tasks.

Relationship-oriented responsive people prefer to focus on the people working on the task.

High responsiveness

A person with higher responsiveness has a higher emotional response to others.

This may appear as empathy. However, they may have less control over their emotions and react emotionally.

They are generally people-oriented, whether this is for purposes of company or altruism.

Low responsiveness

A person with lower responsiveness is less likely to be empathetic as their reactions have less emotional content.

Their response has a higher cognitive element. So they think more before responding, which can make responses slower.
